As I roll into week five of my keto journey, it feels like the days are blending into one long, bacon-scented dream. The mornings start off promising, with my usual breakfast of scrambled eggs and a generous side of bacon—a solid foundation that sets the tone for my day. By mid-morning, I’ve found myself reaching for a couple more pieces of bacon, the savory snack providing a little extra fuel as I tackle the morning’s tasks, even though my hair might be doing its own wild, bedhead tango by this point.

As noon approaches and the morning fades away, I admit, the bacon theme continues. It’s like a little keto-approved treat that keeps me going. Lunchtime brings a bit of a switch-up, though, with a 16-ounce breve that seems to whisper sweet nothings about rich, creamy satisfaction without stepping out of my dietary bounds.

The afternoon to evening transition is where things get interesting. By late afternoon, I indulge in a slice of Colby jack cheese, its 90 calories fitting perfectly into my daily plan. Then, as the evening sneaks in, I find myself in a dance with decadence—dark chocolate and a combo of sharp cheddar and mixed nuts, a pairing that feels like a small rebellion within the confines of keto. And just before the day starts winding down, almond butter and a final round of mixed nuts make their appearance, a quiet end to the day’s culinary adventures.

Reflecting on today’s meals, it’s fascinating how this keto journey has transformed not just my eating habits but my relationship with food. Each choice feels deliberate, a step towards a goal that’s both personal and, admittedly, a bit challenging at times. The simplicity of ingredients, the focus on fats and proteins, it’s a rhythm that’s becoming more natural, even if my bedhead and I occasionally yearn for the days of carefree carb consumption.
